As for the hotel itself, it's set in beautiful surroundings and is in a prime central location in the city.

The hotel itself is within easy walking distance of the city's famous attractions, and it benefits from a delightfully peaceful location in acres of beautiful gardens, and ample parking which is a rarity in Bath.

We were very happy with our room, the location, the grounds - well everything really accept our breakfast.

The weather was glorious so we thoroughly enjoyed exploring on foot.

Getting a masive splinter in my foot from the spa's outdoor decking minutes after arriving!

It was good size with a King sized bed (2 beds put together, but you really couldn't tell, as they were of high quality), a good sized bathroom with a great shower.

We had a large room with king size bed on the ground floor facing the front with a partial view over Bath.

The room's best points were the bed - very comfortable, and the bathroom, nice and big.

From the very start, the inefficiency of the reservation department to the quality of our room (since when do two twin beds pushed together equate to a king size bed?

The room was excellent, the bed very big and comfortable, flat screen TV with satelite channels, desk, easy chairs etc.

The next morning was a bit dissappointing as the party had taken over the Vellore restaurant so we had to eat breakfast in the Alfresco restaurant with very small tables.

The restaurant is a little stuffy and formal, the food is good and plentiful but it is not of decent London restaurants, but to be fair the prices dont match.

The only meal we had in the restaurant was breakfast.

Very clean rooms, the bar manager was particularly good and the restaurant food was excellent.

Only one problem-the restaurant menu was ok but could be improved & you have to pay a supplement of £6 per person for english breakfast which at £175.

Good service from staff and certainly the doorman/concierge was extremely helpful.

Superb service from staff, concierge was very helpful and we were lucky enough to be offered a free upgrade to a suite.

Service was very slow and one hour later, having eaten some sandwiches and chips (eventually) and managed to find a member of staff with whom I could settle the bill, I returned to reception to be told the room still was not ready!

40th birthday, from the time we arrived i felt the staff were very very helpful maybe a bit over the top in some respects, we booked a 4 poster room on the ground floor although you had to walk about 3 minutes from reception to get to it!

Pool, gym, sauna and jacuzzi all lived up to expectations.

Spa, swimming pool, gym and tennis courts.

I must say that the staff in the gym/pool area were excellent, very welcoming and warm, also, the pool/jacuzzi area was very clean and well presented - these two factors are a credit to the hotel.

The room was average sized, slightly dated decor but tidy, clean and comfortable.

Again service was prompt and the rooms were super clean.

The rooms are well furnished, very clean & decor up to date.

The hotel was lovely, the decoration in our standard room was new, clean and tasteful (unlike described in some other reviews posted here).

It's a really lovely hotel; the room was clean, the toiletries were from Molton and Brown.
